Ykids is...

a dynamic, exciting children's charity, benefiting the lives of children in deprived areas of Merseyside and across the UK.

What Ykids does

We have two separate streams of operation...

Firstly, in local communities we're working to benefit the lives of children and young people in areas of deprivation in Bootle, South Sefton and Merseyside. We're currently reaching around 20,000 children a year in these areas. You can see details of some of our latest projects by following links on the left of this page. Ykids' mentoring, self esteem, and anti-bullying projects (amongst others) are making a real difference to the lives of children and young people. Plus, we do loads of events and activities that are just for fun !

We work in partnership with schools, community groups, housing associations, churches etc, seeking to make a really positive difference in these communities.

For all of this Ykids relies heavily on a vast team of volunteers. Around 250 people a year volunteer to work with us on a wide range of exciting projects and activities. We support our volunteers through training and especially in mentoring our many young leaders.

Our second stream of work is to support churches across the UK in developing effective children's ministry through training, partnership and support.
